Building digitally

The Danish state’s initiative Digital Construction (in Danish: Det Digitale Byggeri) seeks to put added focus on the use of IT in the building sector and to set standards for the results of that use. Digital Convergence is not a challenge to Digital Construction, but rather a parallel collaboration that will help the industry to digitalise better and thus equip the industry’s companies to comply with the standards set by Digital Construction.

Digital Convergence springs from the industry and clients’ demands of efficiency improvement through digitalisation.

Digital Convergence has participated actively in the development of the framework of Digital Construction in Denmark. Through e.g.:

  • hearing statement on Digital Construction in June 2006
  • hearing statement on Dansk Bygge Klassifikation (DBK) in October 2006.
To ensure that this is not all words and promises, Digital Convergence has, in connection with Digital Construction, completed no less than 17 tests of the standards and demands for the use of IT in the building process. These tests are described in ‘Building standards’.
