Digital Convergence (in Danish: Digital Konvergens) is a co-operation between six of the leading companies in the Danish construction sector:
-- COWI
- Grontmij | CarlBro
- MT Højgaard
- NCC
- Pihl
- Rambøll.
The collaboration focuses on introducing and implementing shared IT standards in the entire sector, e-mail standards, discrepancy lists and web based project management.
The collaboration partners have deliberately chosen open standards from bips* that are available and easy to use for the entire industry. Everything is based on bips’ standards, which the industry itself has developed through the years.
The purpose is to streamline and improve the use of the many pieces of information that signify a building project and thereby strengthen the basis for better and more inexpensive building projects.
We have agreed on the following:
- To assess and choose the best standards in unison
- To pioneer the use of the chosen standards
- To encourage uptake by the entire industry
- To spearhead and support the process
- To invest in collaboration and implementation
- To each do what we decide together
* A Danish association that develops common methods and tools across the various parties within the building industry. The name is a Danish acronym for construction, IT, productivity and collaboration.
